GASTRO:POP-UP was my first pop-up restaurant and it took place on June 30th, 2012. I featured a beer-pairing dinner that included 5 courses and a flight of 3 Fireman’s Brew beer. After a sold-out, successful event, we were invited to “Today in LA” for a 4th of July special! (NBC Channel 4 Los Angeles).

Chef Alejandra Schrader from FOX’s popular show MasterChef presents GASTRO:POP-UP, an urban dining experience. After two successful pop-up food truck events in Venice, Alejandra goes into a unique setting in Downtown Los Angeles for her first sit-down, pop-up restaurant.
GASTRO:POP-UP‘s four-course prix-fixe menu will feature gourmet gastropub dishes made with the highest quality ingredients and artisanal food paired with a flight of Fireman’s Brew craft beers. It will take place at the Brewery Arts Complex in an amazing urban location. The setting will be casual and environmental-friendly with bamboo china and recycled paper products.
1st Course -Paired with Fireman’s Brew Blonde
Ale-steamed mussels and clams
Lemony fennel, chervil crème fraîche, black garlic crostini
2nd Course - Paired with Fireman’s Brew Red Head
Beer-braised pulled pork slider* with root truffle chips
Brioche bun, red onion compote, house stone-ground mustard, wild rocket salad, pickled vegetables
* Substitution: Organic wild mushroom slider
Buffalo lollipop with kale salad
Roasted red pepper harissa, mint gastrique
3rd Course - Paired with Fireman’s Brew Brunette
Slow-cooked organic, grass-fed brisket with figs and spiced beer glaze
Heirloom carrots, purple cabbage, parsley chimichurri
Beer-infused ice cream parfait
Baked-puffed granola, fresh apricots, blood orange sauce
